Here I post my thoughts and frustrations with design.
I'm no expert, but I'm learning.
It’s nothing special, but the process is great.
My fine art training is finally getting some use!
Lets hope it goes better than last time.
The pressure is on and I just have way to much going on to get this done.
So I’ll be making a full set of illustrative beers if I have the time. And 3 other single beers using the specifications of the project.
These are a few of my initial sketches for the illustrative method I’m using for my craft brewery “Big Tent Brewing Company.”
My final four characters are the Strong Man, Sword Swallower, Wolf Boy and Bearded Lady. The lady is a bit behind, hard to make a feminine looking girl with a beard…
I’m taking these into illustrator for a fun night of pen tooling, so far so good.
In my current project we are to create 4 designs on a subject and medium of our choice.
But as usual, we have limitations. We must create one using pure typography and then choose from three other styles including illustration, photo, 3D, or flat color.
I’ve had an Idea for awhile now of creating a series of Beer Designs for a microbrewery I’m calling “Big Tent Brewing Company.” The theme for the different styles of beer will be based on Circus Sideshows, better known as Freak Shows. For each different style of beer I will have a different Sideshow character.
I am really wanted to create a purely illustrative design, but the project guidelines don’t exactly fit to that idea. So being the stubborn person I am, instead of switching my idea, I’ve decided to create a full set of beer for each design categories.
So 1 individual design per bottle, for 4 packs of 4… that equals 16 different bottle designs. Only two weeks to go and I’m starting to feel the pressure.
Sometimes my stubbornness gets me in trouble.
